Armour - post ascend
Hi, I'm back after a break and trying to pick things up again. My char is a R/E who has just done the Dragons Cave mission (and failed to kill Glint!).
I'm still running around in the first set of armour that I picked up immediately post searing, and altho as a Ranger I try not to take damage I'm finding that its a bit embarassing to have to run away quite as fast as I do
Could someone tell me/link me/help me as to where I can get decent armour? I've got a pretty odd mix of armour at the moment, so suggestions would be welcome.

you can find nice armors in droksnars forge...1.5k + crafting materials a piece
if thats to expensive you can buy an armor in anmoon oasis..little bit weaker but still much better then a ascolon armor.
and if you buy an armor...watch the bonusses(+energy/+armor against elements)
good luck

Go to Droknar's Forge (the area you went to when you beat Dragon's lair).
Buy the "Druid's Armor" set there. You need Tanned Leather Squares, and Wood Planks. (over 100 of each).
You can buy a mask there, but the masks from desert collectors are just as good and only cost a few materals.

yeah... either get Droks Armour or Desert Collector Armour... and imo get Druids... it's effective and has the cheapest material cost if your low on gold

It's also the most useful. The + energy benefit is better than any +defense vs elemetal.

Plus there is 15k armor (which is really really expensive) in marhans grotto and granite citadel, both of which are around the southern shiverpeaks, close to drokners - But they are the same defense as the drokners armor and cost waaay more.

Droks Druids.
If you trap buy 1 Marksman's Mask and 1 Wilderness Survival and slap a superior rune on each respective one. Then switch out when ya need to..

I would say that Druid's armor is the best choice. Rangers already have 100 armor versus elemental damage, so the additional energy would be the best choice. You could get Fur-Lined armor, however, if you plan on carrying Greater Conflagration (E) and Winter around, but I wouldn't want to do that and I doubt you would ^^. If you're really low on money, however, just get Crystal Desert collector's armor. The stats are the same as Droknar's armor but just without the additional energy or additional armor versus a certain element.

Well, I had enough gold and crafting materials to get a set of druids apart from the leggings, but I only need 4 more leather squares so it won't take long for the whole set. I've been hoarding crafting materials knowing that I'd need some armour one day, so its panned out. Thanks for all the advice! The only downside is that the red dye I'd been keeping made almost no difference to my druid vest, altho that pink collar does look..um.. sweet
Now I'm going to work out what runes to stick where (I've got a few of those saved up too) and flog the rest. Hmm, then its time to thin out my bow collection and try to work out 4 to cover all situations. Well, mebbe 6. Then again... 8 bows isn't that many is it?

if you are too poor (no offence) to buy droks armor, you can always scavanger around for collectors armor in desert. It's still max armor for alot less.

That's what I have always done when I am poor, the armor in desert/shiverpeaks from collectors is just missing that energy or elemental bonus.
